It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Phil Bott.
Mr Bott had been a member of staff for many, many years at both our predecessor school and here at Appleton. Indeed, many of you will have been taught German and French by Mr Bott at Wyke Manor or Appleton Academy.
When Mr Bott retired from teaching, he remained at Appleton Academy supporting children and young people with additional needs, helping them to flourish and enjoy their learning.
Phil was a wonderfully kind, calm and patient man, who was respected and well liked by his colleagues and our students, and we will continue to remember him fondly.
