We would like to make parents aware of changes we have made to our open evening for parents and pupils interested in Appleton Academy admissions to Year 7 in September 2022. The open evening is scheduled to take place next Wednesday 20 October 2021.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a position where there are rising numbers of cases of covid in the local area. Therefore, in order to run the open evening safely for visitors and staff, we need to put some restrictions in place. This means that the event will now only be available to those who have booked in advance to attend. In addition to this, in order to avoid any large gatherings of people in close proximity to each other, we have cancelled the Executive Headteacher addresses, which were originally advertised in the information we have previously shared about the event.
Families who wish to attend the open evening will be able to book a maximum of 2 tickets per family (i.e. 1 child and 1 adult or 2 adults). Parents and visitors will not be given admission to the event if tickets have not been booked in advance. Bookings can be made using the link below.
We would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by these changes and for the late notice, but we hope that you can appreciate that the measures we are putting in place are to protect you, your families, our staff and pupils. Visitors will be expected to sanitise their hands on entry to the Academy and to wear masks at all times whilst inside the building (these can be provided if you do not have one with you).
There will also be an opportunity for some visits during the school day, but these will be very limited in number. These can also be booked using the link provided below. If you are unable to attend on the evening, please look through our website, in particular at our transition pages, for a flavour of the Academy and what we have to offer to your children and you. Although some of the information relates to transition and admissions from last year, it is still relevant and will offer an insight into Appleton Academy. We will also continue to update this information as we move towards the school selection deadlines for parents and pupils.
